Game of Thrones actress Emilia Clarke confesses her mum knows the ending - but has forgotten it already

Emilia Clarke has confessed to telling her mother how Game Of Thrones ends – but she’s forgotten already.

The actress, who plays Daenerys Targaryen in the HBO hit, admitted she let slip to her mum, who is a good “vault” for secrets.

“I've got to be honest, I did... I wasn't supposed to, I told my mum,” Clarke told The Late Show host Stephen Colbert.

“The good thing about telling my mum was that she's a vault. Because she's [already] forgotten it.

But Clarke joked she is mildly concerned her mother will fall asleep in public and mumble the ending, not knowing she has revealed one of the biggest TV secrets in decades.

Clarke's confession comes a day after co-star Sophie Turner, who plays Sansa Stark, revealed that her fiancé Joe Jonas was forced to sign a non-disclosure agreement after he "figured out" the all-important ending. He was then "filled in" on the whole final plot by Turner.

Plot details for the final season of the fantasy drama, which airs in two weeks, have been kept tightly under wraps but trailers have hinted at things getting pretty bad in Winterfell.

The latest teaser hints at the dramatic events in the wake of the big battle we know is set to rock Westeros.

Clarke discussed a recent episode written in The New Yorker detailing her story of surviving two life-threatening brain aneurysms during filming.

The 32-year-old described having a “horrific headache” and being “violently ill” as she was rushed to hospital.

When asked by Colbert if her experience changed her outlook on life at all, Clarke admitted that it had made her “petrified” most of the time.

“I wish I could sit here and say I was like ‘let’s go!’” she said. “[But] I really wasn’t. But then, at some point, you start to realise how lucky you are and the perspective it gives you is enormous.”

Clarke last month revealed she had suffered a subarachnoid haemorrhage at the aged of 24 while working out with a personal trainer in 2011.

She said she tried to “push through the pain” but was soon rushed to hospital before surgery to save her life. The trauma left her with aphasia and she struggled to recall her own name, among many other things.

“In my worst moments, I wanted to pull the plug. I asked the medical staff to let me die,” she wrote. “My job – my entire dream of what my life would be – centred on language, on communication. Without that, I was lost.”

Clarke was told she had another aneurysm on the other side of her brain, one that was regularly monitored. In 2013, she underwent surgery again after suffering a bleed on the brain.

As well as sharing her story, Clarke has launched her own charity called SameYou raising funds to treat those recovering from brain injury and stroke.
