Game of Thrones actor Iwan Rheo stars in live video game as the Kraken Screamfest returns for Halloween

Remember last year when horror maestro Neil Marshall teamed up with The Kraken Rum to deliver the ultimate live frightfest? Well just because we're locked down this year doesn't mean The Kraken is resting...

This Halloween The Kraken Black Spiced Rum is teaming up with Iwan Rheon to star in a terrifying new 'real life video game' - Screamfest 4: The Kraken’s Revenge.

This one of a kind, real-life video game will be a world-first as players will be able to remotely issue commands to Hollywood actor Iwan Rheon and watch him respond immediately on a live video link.

The stalker-like game will see fans guide Iwan using a single torch light, directing them through a series of terrifying rooms, tiny cramped cells and damp, well-trodden corridors to safety - before it’s too late! Tense, frightening and chillingly dark, our courageous players must evade The Kraken’s nemesis at all costs.

Iwan Rheon said, “I’m used to playing a character that did all the controlling but now the tables are turned. I’ll be at the mercy of people controlling my every move online from anywhere in the country, sending me from room to room in a particularly creepy location while I’m hunted by a monster. I do wonder how many Kraken fans will send me to my doom and how many will save me!”

Rockstar Games alumnus John Zurhellen, who created this nightmare-inducing effort, said, “The brief for Kraken Screamfest was simple: Come up with a concept more terrifying and warped than anything 2020 has to offer. So, I delved deep into our primal fears - being hunted, tight spaces, dark shadows, hate-filled creatures - and I’m pretty confident I’ll deliver one of the most terrifying experiences this year.

"On a personal note, I’m extremely honoured to pick up the baton where Neil Marshall left off, so rest assured Kraken fans, I will do your Mighty Beast proud!”

With both The Mighty Beast and John Zurhellen keeping the hideous and horrid storylines close to their depraved, tormented hearts until the launch, fans of The Kraken will have to wait until the launch to find out first-hand what’s in store for those brave enough to go toe-to-toe with The Balthazoid.
