Game loses as director sells shares

Game Group shares have been having a pretty good run recently, and earlier today they were a few pence higher after the successful launch of Grand Theft Auto IV.

ABN Amro issued a positive note saying: "This [launch] is further evidence of the strength of the games market, and we believe that GTA IV will also be a significant hardware driver, pushing up PS3 purchases. This supports our view that Game will report extremely strong interim results."

So what better time to sell shares if you are a director? Today non-executive chairman Peter Lewis has raised around £2.3m by selling 850,000 shares at 269.23p each - with predictable results. Game shares are now down 6.5p at 267.75p.

The company said Lewis had decided to sell the shares "to address estate and tax planning matters".
