Game is up for on the run prisoner as police return him to jail

A prisoner with links to Ellesmere Port who escaped from prison with another inmate has now been caught.

Vincent Bland, 38, and Steven White, 29 absconded from HMP Thorncross in Warrington on Saturday, April 10.

Yesterday police confirmed that White was captured and returned to jail but Bland, who has links to Ellesmere Port, Wigan and Winsford remained on the run.

Police had appealed for help finding Bland, who was wearing a hi-vis orange workman's jacket when he bolted from HMP Thorncross, an open prison and young offender's institution, on Saturday.

But today Cheshire Police said the game was now up for Bland, who has now also been caught.

A spokesperson said this morning: "Vincent Bland has now been located."
