Game for a Shafta

Forget about the Baftas, the Oscars, forget even about the Royal Television Society. There is one awards ceremony that is unlike any other - the Shaftas.

The Shaftas celebrate Fleet Street in all its glory. Who will win scoop of the year for most trivial news story, the Michael Fish award for worst prediction, and the Too Close to the Story award for reporters who get, er, rather too close to a celebrity to be totally objective.

Other categories include worst picture caption, worst newspaper of the year, the Glenda Slagg award for best hatchet job, the Dr Hilary award for worst celebrity health scare, and the Golden Bollocks award for worst David Beckham flyer.

Then there are prizes for the worst reality TV reporter, the best apology award, the lifetime achievement award, the Sold a Pup award for gullible reporting, and of course the most prestigious prize of all, the Princess Margaret Award.

This year's awards are due to take place on April 25 and will once again be hosted by Johnny Vaughan. But who do you think deserves to win? All suggestions welcome:
