Galway and Offaly will clash on the opening weekend of the Hurling National League in what is expected to be a mouth watering clash.

Galway may be without stalwart Joe Canning after he opted to hang up the boots last year but have an even bigger name on their side lines as Henry Shefflin makes his competitive debut for Galway.

The Kilkenny legend shocked the hurling world when he announced he would take the Tribesman job and their is optimism in Galway that Shefflin could bring the Midas touch.
