Galway shop gets massive support after simple sign left outside their door

A Galway shop has received huge support after putting up a simple sign outside their door.

Elle's Daybreak in Dunmore, Co Galway erected the notice which was snapped by and posted on Twitter before being shared widely.

The sign, written by shop owner Mark Ryan, pleads with customers to get something small in the shop to keep them going.

It says: "Dear customer, thank you for your continued support. Any small purchases made when getting fuel or cigs will really help to keep us open to supply you."

Michelle Healy spotted the notice and tweeted it out to her followers before it was widely shared.

She said: "Hey Ireland...if you are passing by Dunmore, Co. Galway..Please stop by Elles Daybreak /TopOil for fuel and snacks.

"Any business owner that feels it's necessary to put a sign up like this, deserves support. They are lovely people, with lovely 99s."

The post has received hundreds of retweets and likes with people vowing to support the local businessman from near and afar.
