Galway Races tips, TV channel information, race card, runners, start time and more for day 3 at Ballybrit

The Galway Races continue this afternoon and evening with a further eight races taking place.

It's been a strange festival so far with the action taking place behind closed doors, but there has still been plenty of entertainment on the track.

After two days of flat action, we move to a jumps card today.

Here's everything you need to know:

What time is the first race?

The first race gets underway at 4.45pm.

What's the big race?

The Galway Plate is one of the biggest races in the jump racing calendar and we look set for another fascinating contest this year.

Gordon Elliottt has won three of the last four runnings of the race and he has a strong team once again as he runs five horses and also has one of the reserves.

He is responsible for the current favourite Galvin, who was last seen when winning at Killarney earlier this month. That was his first run since finishing second to Imperial Aura in the Northern Trust Company Novices' Handicap Chase at the Cheltenham Festival in March.

Willie Mullins also has a number of runners in the race, with Royal Rendezvous and Easy Game among six for the champion trainer.

Today's feature gets takes place at 6.45pm.

What channel are the races on?

RTE Two will show live action from 5.30pm to 7.30pm, while Racing TV will show all the races from Galway this week live.
