Galway Festival betting tips: Peter O'Hehir's selections for the second day

Boasting a record of two wins from three visits to Ballybrit, Zero Ten is napped to make a successful debut over fences for Emmet Mullins in today’s Latin Quarter Beginners Chase in Galway.

Already successful in a bumper and maiden hurdle on this track, the six-year-old, owned by the Mee family, Zero Ten returned after a break to win in March at Leopardstown.

Tried in Grade 2 company, he was a beaten favourite when bumping into Dommage Pour Toi at Fairyhouse over Easter, but recouped losses when beating The Big Dog in a novice at the Punchestown festival.

Since then, Galway has been the plan for Zero Ten. And, sure to be well-schooled, he sets a decent standard here.

The two-year-old fillies maiden looks a cracker, bringing together Aidan O’Brien’s Petite Mustique ad the Dermot Weld-trained Azila, fourth and fifth behind subsequent Group 3 winner Love in a Leopardstown maiden.

Although the Weld filly was slightly hampered turning for home and the Ballydoyle representative had had a previous run, I expect Petite Mustique to confirm her superiority, while also proving too strong for Fozzy Stack’s Too Soon To Panic, third to Cayenne Pepper on her debut at Leopardstown.

In the other non-handicap, the Caulfield Industrial Maiden, Jessica Harrington’s Dancing On A Dream appeals.

This 76-rated filly shaped with promise on her Irish debut at Leopardstown, when third to Super Treat in a handicap and, helped by first-time cheekpieces, may reward each-way support here.

The handicaps look treacherous. But Beckwith Place might prove an appropriate winner of the Caulfieldimdustrial.ie Handicap finale.
