Gallus Street Food: The latest challengers to Glasgow's food porn crown

Gallus: bold, cheeky, or flashy. Something that will really catch your eye.

In that regard, this new Dumbarton Road cafe has so far certainly lived up to its name.

Ahead of opening in December, Gallus introduced themselves to the city's food and drink scene as purveyors of 'fresh, streetfood-style scran', inspired by 'go to street foods of the world', but with a Scottish angle.

A little over a month after opening, and after a series of rave reviews, the creative culinary concoctions they're coming up with are beginning to turn heads, with Gallus fast becoming the latest challengers to Glasgow's food porn crown.

The gluttonous Heavy Gallus Burger and the likes of Louisville Hot Brown poutine are real attention grabbers, while this month, Veganuary, there's been an extra focus on including all the veggies and vegans who crave a shameless feast, with Scot-inspired showstoppers such as vegan haggis nachos and veggie haggis bao buns.

And this weekend, they'll be taking things to the next level with Dr Pepper meatballs.

To whet the appetite, we've put together a gallery of Gallus' droolworthy dishes:
