Gallowgate incident: Man arrested after disturbance on Bain street

Police officers have arrested a 37-year-old man in connection with a disturbance on Bain Street in Glasgow.

Officers taped off a section of Calton after reports of a disturbance at a property. They say the 'incident was contained and there was no risk to the wider public.'

A number of police vans are at the road adjacent to Glasgow Green, at the corner of Bain Street.

Bain street is currently closed to all traffic at the junction of Gallowgate.

Emergency services are still on the scene and a road diversion is in place.

Traffcom wrote: "Due to an ongoing police incident, Bain Street is currently closed to all traffic at the junction of Gallowgate.

"Emergency services are in attendance and road users should follow police direction."

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 2.30pm on Saturday, 13 February, 2021, police were called to a report of a disturbance at a property on Bain Street, Glasgow. The incident was contained and there was no risk to the wider public. A 37-year-old man has been arrested in connection."
