David Gallop has followed Todd Greenberg into cricket after joining the Cricket NSW board as a replacement for Mike Baird.
Gallop had his appointment approved this week, bringing the former NRL and Football Federation Australia boss onto the powerful state's board.
The 55-year-old has been out of frontline sports administration since stepping down as CEO of FFA in 2019.
Like Greenberg, who was named players union chief last month, Gallop played cricket as a youngster before rising the ranks in the NRL.
"I love cricket and I am delighted to join the board of Cricket NSW," Gallop said.
"My professional career in sport has meant that cricket has taken a back seat for a couple of decades but I am keen to take an active role in the sport that has given me so much joy and so many friendships.
"No doubt some of the challenges will be familiar to me.
"High performance success for the state's elite men's and women's teams is critical but just as important is the continued support of community cricket."
Cricket NSW's board remains one of the most powerful in the country under chairman John Knox, having forced change last year at Cricket Australia during the pandemic.
