Gallery: Ranking the 20 best Saints draft picks since 2006

The New Orleans Saints have always looked to the NFL Draft as a way to inject young talent into their team. And they’ve made some tremendous selections, especially since head coach Sean Payton took over back in 2006 and hired college scouting director Jeff Ireland in 2015, forming a powerful brain trust with general manager Mickey Loomis.

But which picks were the best? It would be easy to just throw in the current stars, all highly-picked prospects: names like Marshon Lattimore, Ryan Ramczyk, and so on. But there’s more to it than living up to draft positioning. What about the late round gems, players picked out of the rough from schools that don’t even play football anymore? Like Marques Colston (Hofstra) or Jahri Evans (Bloomsburg)?

To find out, we put together a ranking of the 20 best Saints draft picks since 2006. Follow the link to find out who made the cut.
