Galleon Centre announces changes to swimming sessions from this week

The Galleon Centre has announced changes to swimming sessions that are set to come into effect later this week.

The Kilmarnock leisure centre revealed that customers will no longer be required to book sessions for both the pool and gym.

However the pool will still operate with maximum capacities.

Booking was introduced almost two years ago as the health, fitness and leisure industry emerged from the first Covid lockdown.

Instead of designated swimming sessions, the pool will be open for the entire day apart from a half-hour cleaning break in the afternoon.

A statement from the centre reads: "From June 27, 2022, the centre will no longer require our customers to book into sessions for the pool and gym.

"The pool will continue to operate with maximum capacities.

"The new pool programme will be available to view on our website in due course."
