Galaxy S10 smartphone EXPLODES - but Samsung refuses to take responsibility

Back in 2016, Samsung hit the headlines, after many of its Galaxy Note 7 smartphones overheated and burst into flames.

The debacle was so bad that Samsung was forced to recall the Galaxy Note 7 altogether, costing the tech giant at least £5 billion.

Now, three years after that fiasco, Samsung is in hot water again, as one customer has claimed that his Galaxy S10 5G smartphone has exploded.

The customer, known only as Lee, posted photos of his charred smartphone, and claims it exploded ‘without reason.’

Speaking to AFP, Lee said: “My phone was on the table when it started smelling burnt and smoke soon engulfed the phone.

“I had to drop it to the ground when I touched it because it was so hot. Everything inside [the phone] was burnt.”

However, while Lee says that the phone exploded without reason, Samsung doesn’t think this is the case.

Speaking to AFP,  Samsung said that the damage was likely the result of ‘external impact’, and not an internal issue.

Samsung Galaxy Fold recalled and launch DELAYED amid reports of broken screens

As a result, Samsung has refused to refund Lee for his phone, or send him a replacement.

This is the first incident involving a Galaxy S10 smartphone that we’ve heard of, so it’s pretty unlikely to be a repeat of the Note 7 incident!

However, another of Samsung’s smartphones has been in hot water recently.

While Samsung’s highly anticipated Galaxy Fold smartphone was supposed to launch this week, the tech firm was forced to push back the release, after several journalists discovered issues with the screen during pre-briefings.
