Uefa has announced that Galatasaray have been handed a two-season ban from European club competitions following their breach of financial fair play regulations.

The Istanbul-based club will not be allowed to play in the Champions League or the Europa League in the 2016-17 and 2017-18 seasons having failed to comply with Uefa’s settlement terms.

Galatasaray were knocked out of this season’s Champions League at the group stage and were eliminated from the Europa League by Lazio last week.
