Gal Gadot was interviewed as part of a WarnerMedia investigation into Joss Whedon’s behaviour on Justice League.
Buffy the Vampire Slayer creator Whedon was brought in to replace Zack Snyder on the 2017 superhero film, after the director left halfway through filming due to a death in his family.
However, following allegations made in July by Cyborg actor Ray Fisher of Whedon’s “gross, abusive, unprofessional and completely unacceptable” conduct during production, Warner launched an investigation into the director’s behaviour, which they said last week had concluded.
“WarnerMedia’s investigation into the Justice League movie has concluded and remedial action has been taken,” a statement read.
Speaking to Variety, Wonder Woman actor Gadot, who starred in the film, revealed that she had been interviewed as part of the investigation, saying: “I know that they've done a very thorough investigation, even just by how much time I spent with them.”
The Israeli actor explained that she hadn’t been updated on the result, however, saying of Warner Bros’s statement: “I don’t know what that means either. I’m curious to know what’s going to be the outcome.”
Gadot’s comments come after she told the Los Angeles Times that she’d had her own “experience” with Whedon on set.
“I wasn’t there with the guys when they shot with Joss Whedon – I had my own experience with [him], which wasn’t the best one, but I took care of it there and when it happened,” she said.
“I took it to the higher-ups and they took care of it. But I’m happy for Ray to go up and say his truth.”
The Independent has approached Whedon’s representatives for comment.
Following a campaign from fans, Snyder’s version of Justice League – nicknamed the “Snyder Cut” by fans – is being released as a four-part series coming to HBO Max in 2021.
