Gail Porter sparks concern as she reveals she fractured her skull after a 'seizure'

Gail Porter has shocked fans revealing she fractured her skull after a 'seizure'.

The 50-year-old TV presenter posted a picture of her badly grazed head on Instagram with the caption: "Sleeping is not too comfortable with a fractured skull!! Don’t have the hand book on comfy sore head sleeps! Hope you’re all sleeping well xxx"

The mum-of-one's post sparked concern among her followers with one posting: "Oh no what happened? Sending hugs x," to which Gail responded: "little fit/faint!"

The Scottish star gave no further details about what happened.

The Mirror has contacted Gail's reps for comment.

In the past, Gail has shared her struggles with anorexia, post-natal depression and bipolar disorder.

She was left left bald by alopecia in 2005 - a year after ending her marriage to Dan Hipgrave.

In the 90s Gail had been one of the most in-demand TV stars in the UK, however she believes her career took a downturn owing to her alopecia.

The Celebrity Big Brother star claimed people stopped calling her for jobs because she didn't "look the same".

She said: "Jobs just stopped. Because you don't look the same, 'would you wear a wig, would you mind wearing a wig'? No I don't want to wear a wig. This is how it is.

"My personality took a bit of a knock."

In July this year Gail spoke about how her anxiety would be going 'through the roof' as the UK's freedom day approached following months of lockdown due to the coronavirus.

Speaking to The Mirror she said: " "I think it is going help with people's mental health having the restrictions lifted but I also think it will cause some anxiety.

"People's wellbeing has been pushed to the limit with those having to isolate - I didn't see any people for the first six months of lockdown and I think people's anxiety will go through the roof."

Gail said she wouldn't even consider getting on a busy tube in London, but did give advice for anyone suffering with anxiety.

She said: ""My advice for those feeling nervous is to breathe deeply and if you can walk there, then walk there - it's good for the environment, it's good for you and it helps with stress and mental health."

Gail is a proud mum to daughter Honey, 19, who she shares with Toploader guitarist Dan Hipgrave.

She married the musician in 2001 before getting divorced in 2005.
