TV star Gail Porter has revealed the firm that projected her nude image on to the Houses of Parliament finally apologised years later – with a crate of wine.
The presenter, 49, said she was horrified to see her bum projected in a stunt for FHM as she knew nothing until she saw it on the news.
It was part of the magazine’s Sexiest Woman poll in 1999 and Porter, who was 28 at the time, was shocked as she said she thought the photoshoot, which she wasn’t paid for, was just going to be “a tiny thing”.
Speaking on the Persons of Interest podcast, she said: “I didn’t know it was going to happen.
"Obviously I’d done the photoshoot with them and I remember my mum was with me.
"She’s like ‘I can see your bottom’ and I was like, ‘But nobody else will see it. It’s going to be like a tiny thing and I’m not getting paid for it, Mum’.
“I got a phone call in the morning and it was my mum going, ‘Have you seen the news?’ and there was my 100ft backside on the Houses of Parliament.
“I didn’t know. I had no clue whatsoever and it was a publicity stunt for them.
"They used a company called Cunning Stunts.”
Porter told how she did a podcast with the owner of Cunning Stunts.
She added: “He apologised to me wholeheartedly – he was quite nervous to speak to me.
"Then as my reward for going on his podcast I woke up one morning . . . they sent me 12 bottles of wine.”
