Gaga Glasgow – Chef Julie Lin and Thornwood Bar bosses team up to open new Partick restaurant

Glasgow chef Julie Lin is teaming up with Thornwood bar bosses to launch a new restaurant in Partick.

The founder of southside favourite Julie's Kopitiam will be joining forces with Marc Ferrier and Ken Hamilton to open GaGa, a brand new bar and kitchen serving up South Asian street food and cocktails.

Also joining the team is Fraser Hamilton, the former director of legendary cocktail bar Sweet Liberty on Miami Beach – named one of the world's top 50 bars in 2018.

Foodies may remember Julie Lin's GaGa chicken venture at SWG3 last year – so you can expect a levelled-up version of the street food pop-up at this new haunt.

The bosses are currently renovating the former Six North craft ale bar on Dumbarton Road into a "beautiful space to relax, hang out and enjoy delicious cocktails and food."

Glaswegians will get the chance to try a rotating South East Asian menu drawn up by Julie, which draws on her in-depth knowledge of Asian cooking from her Malaysian mother.

Diners can look forward to dishes like breakfast nasi goreng, pork and wild garlic dumplings, mamak fried chicken buns and much more.

The bar will also offer a "fun and flavourful" selection of drinks with aperitivos on tap and a range of mixed drinks with quality spirits and liqueurs, cold pressed juices, herb oils, tinctures and extracts prepared on site.

Gaga Glasgow is set to open in the coming months but they've not set an official date yet – head over to the Instagram for more updates.
