New Nottingham Forest signing Gaetan bong has revealed his reasons for moving to the City Ground.
The 31-year-old has signed a permanent deal with the Reds after leaving Premier League side Brighton & Hove Albion.
The experienced defender will provide competition for first-choice left-back Yuri Ribeiro, following the departures of Jack Robinson and Chema.
He became Forest’s third signing of the January transfer window, joining Adam Diakhaby (loan) and Nuno Da Costa as new additions on Trentside.
Bong admits he needed a fresh challenge after being with the Seagulls since 2015, and says that he immediately felt a connection with Forest once he was aware of the interest.
"I needed a new challenge to be honest,” Bong told the club’s website.
He added: “I've been in Brighton for five years and had some amazing moments there but when I spoke to the people at Forest, they explained to me about the project they are trying to build and I am very excited to be a part of that.
"I think everything just matched between my personality and my ambitions and what the club want from me.
“I wanted to find a club where I could make a good connection with the fans and I think I've made a good choice by joining Nottingham Forest.”
