Gabriel set for Arsenal move as Manchester United weigh up last-gasp bid

Lille defender Gabriel appears to be closing in on a move to Arsenal, after face-to-face talks this week.

The Brazilian has been attracting interest from across Europe, with the 22-year-old impressing in Ligue 1 last season.

Initially it was thought he could follow Victor Osimhen to Napoli, but that now appears unlikely.

And multiple reports in France claim he's on the verge of sealing an Arsenal move after face-to-face talks.

Both France Bleu and La Voix de la Nord report that Gabriel held talks with the Gunners this week, and now wants to get a deal done as soon as possible.

Lille are holding out for a fee of around €30million (£27million) but Arsenal could still face Premier League competition.

While interest from Everton appears to have cooled, La Voix de la Nord believes Manchester United could yet try and hijack a deal.

The Red Devils are looking for a centre-back and could offer Champions League football, something their London rivals can't.

Lille are keen to have their squad in place in the coming weeks as they gear up for the new Ligue 1 season, and are interested in Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos as a replacement for Osimhen.
