Summer signing Gabriel Martinelli has enjoyed a successful start to life at the Emirates Stadium.
The attacker signed a long term deal from Brazilian side Ituano for a fee believed to be in the region if £6 million, becoming the first signing of the summer for Unai Emery.
The 18-year-old was bought to the club as a future prospect, but was given the chance to impress by training and playing with the first team during pre-season.
Martinelli impressed and he made his competitive Arsenal debut coming on as a late substitute in the Premier League opening day victory over Newcastle United.
He was given his first start the League Cup third round tie against Nottingham Forest, and repaid the faith that manager Emery had showed in him by scoring a brace in the 5-0 win.
The Brazilian has since gone onto score at least one goal in every start that he has been given in both the Europa League and League Cup since, including another brace in the thrilling 5-5 draw against Liverpool on Wednesday night.
He has scored a total of seven goals in an Arsenal shirt in just over 400 minutes of football, a record that has not been beaten by any other Brazilian in his debut minutes in the top European leagues.
The seven goals in his first 400 minutes of European football takes Martinelli level with Brazil legend Ronaldo, and above the likes of Gabriel Jesus, Ronaldinho and Neymar.
While Martinelli has made a major impact in both the Europa League and the Carabao Cup, the teenager will be hoping that he will have a similar impact should he be given more Premier League minutes in the coming weeks.
