Gabriel Martinelli reacts on Instagram after Arsenal training session ahead of Burnley clash

Gabriel Martinelli could be in line to make an Arsenal appearance against Burnley this afternoon.

The Gunners go into the game at Turf Moor hoping to make it back-to-back wins in the Premier League following last weekend's impressive 3-1 victory over Leicester City.

With that said, manager Mikel Arteta could spring a few surprises with his team selection as the Europa League round of 16 tie with Olympiacos as well as the north London derby against Tottenham is on the horizon.

If the Spaniard does decide to rotate at Turf Moor, will that finally mean a recall for Martinelli, either as a starter or from the bench?

Well, since the turn of the year the teenager has played just 53 minutes across two appearances in the Premier League for Arsenal and the reason for his lack of game time has been explained by Arteta.

"Everybody has raised the level in recent weeks," Arteta said. "Since Christmas the front players have given us something different.

"Laca has given us some really good spells, Nicolas Pepe is the same. I was really pleased with Willian yesterday because of the way he trains and he is starting to produce in games.

"Everybody has to step up in games and create big moments because the front players at the end have to be the ones who decide it for us."

Ahead of the Burnley game, Martinelli trained with his teammates at London Colney and took to social media afterwards to share a simple message.

As seen above, the Brazilian uploaded an image of him in training with the ball at his feet and captioned the Instagram post with a love heart and football emoji.

Clearly, Martinelli loves football but will he feature against Burnley?

"He needs to keep working and make things difficult for us," Arteta added. "He's a player who is going to give us a lot but he needs some time and we need to find the right games for him, the right connections with him on the pitch to do what he can do best.

"The way he is and the way he trains every day he's going to be a really important player for us.

"When you have many options sometimes it's difficult when you look for certain qualities in certain games."
