Gabriel Martinelli has insisted he is "ready" whenever Mikel Arteta needs to call on him after scoring for Arsenal in their 2-0 win over Newcastle United.
The 20-year-old made just his fifth appearance in the Premier League this season against the Magpies, with the Gunners attacker coming on for the final 25 minutes in the 2-0 win.
Martinelli marked his cameo with Arsenal's second goal of the game - despite the young Brazilian being on the pitch for less than two minutes.
It was a fine finish, too, with Takehiro Tomiyasu finding Martinelli with a clipped through ball, before the attacker lobbed the ball over Martin Dubravka on the volley.
Martinelli will be hoping his brief cameo was enough to convince Arteta to make him a more regular fixture in his plans, and he insisted with a four-word message to his boss than "I am always ready".
Speaking to BT Sport after the 2-0 win, Martinelli said: "As I always say, even if I play two, five, ten minutes I am always ready to play and show something to the team, the manager and the fans.
"This victory was everyone, not just me. It was everyone; the team, the staff, the fans."
Plenty of Arsenal supporters have called on Arteta to play Martinelli more this season, but the Spaniard explained the thinking behind his lack of game time last month.
When asked why Martinelli wasn't playing a lot, the Gunners boss previously said: "Well, because of the amount of players we have in those positions, he had some games that he played.
"He started against Brentford, he started against Chelsea and he started another game. Unfortunately, he got an injury last week, it is a minor injury and we don’t know if he’s going to be available for Monday.
"We have a lot of trust with Gabi and we need to find space for him to grow within the squad.
"If you look at the number of games he’s played the injuries have been a big setback for him, we sometimes forget his age and we need to try and help him maintain that balance because you can generate frustration that comes out of, in my opinion, a not very realistic diagnosis and we need time."
The win for Arsenal puts them level on points with West Ham United - who occupy fourth place in the Premier League table - with the Gunners bouncing back from last weekend's heavy defeat to Liverpool at Anfield.
Arsenal travel to Manchester United on Thursday evening in their next outing, with Martinelli hoping to be included in the starting XI after impressing against Newcastle.
