Gabriel Martinelli has already shown Arsenal what they have been missing from just one Premier League start.
Mikel Arteta handed the Brazilian youngster his first league start of the season for Arsenal's clash with Chelsea and he did not disappoint as the Gunners ran out 3-1 winners at the Emirates Stadium.
Martinelli had only previously made one appearance in the league this season, a cameo in the defeat to Everton, while he also started the defeat to Manchester City in the Carabao Cup.
Fans have been raving about the youngster's display against Chelsea, and there is one statistic that proves he has already had quite the influence.
Arsenal have struggled to create chances this season with few efforts in each game. That's highlighted by the fact Nicolas Pepe was the team's leader when it comes to shots with only 2.37 efforts per game, ahead of Bukayo Saka (2.33) and Alexandre Lacazette (2.05).
But Martinelli is already showing how his confident approach can help the Gunners. Across that substitute appearance against Everton and his start against Chelsea, he has averaged five shots per 90 minutes.
That's more than double what Pepe in second has managed, and it clearly highlights how important he could be for Arteta this season as the Spaniard looks to turn around his side's form.
Even after the three goals against Chelsea, Arsenal have only scored 15 goals in as many games and increasing that rate of just one goal per game could be key to transforming the team's fortunes.
As one of the oldest sayings in football goes, 'you can't score if you don't shoot' and given how shot shy Arsenal have been this season, Arteta could do a lot worse than keeping faith with Martinelli over the coming weeks and months if the Brazilian can manage to keep up that impressive statistic.
