Gabriel Martinelli delivers 13-word transfer message that Arsenal supporters will love

Gabriel Martinelli says he is ready to stay at Arsenal for years to come and achieve long-term success at the Emirates.

The Brazilian striker has made a huge impression since joining the Gunners from Ituano FC in the summer transfer window.

The 18-year-old has scored four goals in four appearances, with two goals in the recent 4-0 Europa League win over Standard Liege.

After the Liege game, Arsenal boss Unai Emery heaped praise on the forward: "I spoke with him about being calm, because when his opportunity arrives like tonight," he said.

"If he continues training and being hungry, I think he’s going to do well and tonight confirmed that. He played in pre-season with us and in every training he showed he was hungry to be with us and to have that opportunity to show his capacity.

"In pre-season he played in different positions, above all he preferred to play as a left winger but he can also play as a right winger. I’m using him as a striker because he played there in Brazil. It’s not the best position for him but the first thing in his mind is to help us.

"And he wants to achieve some minutes in the team. I think tonight his performance and attitude was amazing."

Arsene Wenger accepts Legend award

Martinelli came off the bench in the 1-0 win against Bournemouth, but is yet to start in the Premier League.

But speaking to ESPN Brazil (via Reddit ), the striker says he is focused on working hard to earn a chance.

"I have to thank God for this opportunity, the gaffer and the team gave me a big welcome and I'm trying to get opportunities and do the best I can with them," he said.

"I have to be patient since I'm young and the gaffer talked to me saying I should be patient and wait for the chances, cause they will come."

The teenager also had a message for supporters regarding his long-term future and dismissed the notion of a possible transfer away, revealing that he is ready to stay and achieve success in north London.

"I'm very happy, and I thank god a lot for this," he said.

"I want to make my career here and try to be a legend."
