It has been an impressive return to action for Gabriel Martinelli.
After being sidelined since June with a serious knee injury, the 19-year-old forward made his long-awaited return to the first-team fold with a 19-minute cameo appearance against Everton last weekend.
With the Gunners desperate to get themselves back on level terms after Yerry Mina had put Carlo Ancelotti's side back in front, following Nicolas Pepe's equaliser from the penalty spot, Mikel Arteta called upon Martinelli to try and spark a comeback.
However, the Brazilian was unable to rescue the Gunners a point. Nevertheless, he was rewarded with a start against Manchester City in the Carabao Cup just three days later.
Though Arsenal fell to a 4-1 defeat against City and Martinelli was forced off just after half-time, the youngster retained his place in the starting line-up for Boxing Day's 3-1 win over Chelsea at the Emirates Stadium.
Martinelli started on the left of the forward line, as Arteta watched his side finally bring an end to their seven-game winless run in the league thanks to goals from Alexandre Lacazette, Granit Xhaka, who netted a sublime free-kick, and Bukayo Saka.
But although Martinelli did not manage to get himself on the scoresheet, he produced an excellent performance, giving the likes of Reece James and Thiago Silva plenty to think about in Chelsea's defensive line.
As well as making himself a real nuisance, Martinelli also went close to getting himself a goal with a speculative overhead-kick in the second half, drawing a save from Edouard Mendy in the Chelsea goal.
Though Mendy was equal to the Brazilian's effort, it was a stunning attempt from the 19-year-old, who is clearly brimming with confidence.
But it isn't just Martinelli's technical ability and creative flair that won praise against Chelsea.
In the first half, the Brazilian was spotted showing an enormous amount of desire and energy to try and retrieve Arsenal possession and push Chelsea back towards their own goal.
In a video that has gone viral on social media, the Brazilian was spotted sprinting from inside his own half in an attempt to push Chelsea backwards, with the Blues eventually forced all the way back to Mendy after having the ball inside the Gunners' half.
Martinelli's desire to press Chelsea high up the pitch earned immediate plaudits from Gunners fans, with some comparing him to former Liverpool ace Luis Suarez, who was often renowned for his ability to press opponents and force them back towards his own goal.
On Twitter, @AFC_RD19 said: "In a way but Suarez technically was unbelievable from his Ajax days."
Another Twitter user, @dashanhendrx, said: "He reminds me of Suarez or Sanchez with the pressing."
