Arsenal are in the hunt for another major signing as they go toe-to-toe with Napoli for the services of Lille defender Gabriel Magalhaes.
The two sides have reportedly both seen bids accepted for the 22-year-old, while Lille have confirmed that he is free to leave and the Brazilian will make a decision on his future this week.
Previous reports have suggested that there is a gentleman's agreement for a deal between Napoli and the French side, while it's also been stated that Arsenal have held positive talks with Gabriel's representatives.
While we haven't heard from the player himself recently, he did open up on speculation surrounding his future earlier this year prior to the transfer window opening.
“I follow, but I try to stay apart. I always tell my managers that, at this moment, I want to know as little as possible so as not to lose focus on the pitch," he told Brazilian outlet UOL earlier this year.
“I am happy to see my name being linked with great teams.
"It shows that the work I’ve done so far has been good."
Gabriel also admitted he has noticed supporters' bombarding his Instagram account amid the speculation.
“I also see many fans of the two teams commenting on my posts on Instagram [laughs]. It’s funny.”
