Gabriel Jesus starts as Grealish dropped - Man City fans name line-up they want vs Real Madrid

Manchester City will be looking to put one foot in the final of the Champions League when they face Spanish giants Real Madrid in the first-leg of their semi-final showdown at the Etihad Stadium this evening.

City, who continued their defence of their Premier League crown with a 5-1 win over Watford on Saturday, will be looking to build on their quarter-final triumph against Atletico Madrid. After beating Diego Simeone's side 1-0 in the first-leg at the Etihad, City registered a goalless draw at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium in the second-leg, meaning they progressed to the last-four.

However, they must now find a way past a side that has conquered both Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea in the last two rounds. Madrid scraped past Chelsea in the quarter-finals, winning the tie 5-4 on aggregate after a thrilling second leg in the Bernabeu earlier this month.

Therefore, City will have to be at the peak of their powers to avoid falling at the semi-final hurdle. To make matters more worrying, potentially, City will have to do it without the suspended Joao Cancelo and major doubts have been cast about the availability of both Kyle Walker and John Stones, who were each absent from Monday afternoon's open training session.

But how do City's fans want the Blues to line-up this evening? MEN Sport has taken a close look at what they have voted for using our interactive widget.

Unsurprisingly, the supporters have voted for Ederson to start in goal, with the Brazilian having played in all but one of City's Champions League matches this season. However, it is in defence where the biggest decisions will have to be made, largely down to Cancelo's suspension and Walker's injury troubles.

The fans want to see youngster CJ Egan-Riley start at right-back and Nathan Ake at left-back, with Ruben Dias and Aymeric Laporte forming a familiar-looking partnership at centre-back. Should that happen, it would be two changes to the defence that started against Watford, with Egan-Riley replacing Cancelo and Ake coming in for Oleksandr Zinchenko, meaning two changes at full-back.

In midfield, the supporters want to see one change made, with Ilkay Gundogan drafted in at the expense of Brazilian midfielder Fernandinho. He will join Kevin De Bruyne and Rodri in the engine room.

In attack, City's supporters want to see two alternations to made to the front-three that started against Watford. They want to see Riyad Mahrez and Phil Foden come in, meaning Jack Grealish and Raheem Sterling would drop out.

That means that they hope to see Gabriel Jesus, who scored four at the weekend, keep his place and spearhead the attack.

Starting line-up City's supporters want to see vs Real Madrid: Ederson; Egan-Riley, Dias, Laporte, Ake; Rodri, Gundogan, De Bruyne; Mahrez, Jesus, Foden.
