Gabriel Jesus reveals stance on Man City future

Gabriel Jesus insists he has no plans to leave Manchester City - and says Sergio Aguero is staying put at the Etihad too.

Jesus struggled for regular starts in Pep Guardiola's title-winning side last season, with Aguero scoring 32 goals in 46 appearances.

The Argentine's goals fired City to an unprecedented treble of domestic trophies, with Pep Guardiola's side retaining the league title for the first time in history.

It limited Jesus' opportunities, but the Brazil international says he is respectful of Aguero's status at the club.

"[Aguero] is a legend at the club - he's the top scorer [of all time]," he told the Daily Mail after featuring from the bench in Brazil's 3-0 win against Bolivia in the opening game of the Copa America. "Obviously as a player I always want to play, but I'm happy to help and I respect Sergio."

Jesus was signed from Palmeiras for a fee in the region of £27 million in January 2017 and has since scored 45 goals in 100 appearances for the Blues.

The 22-year-old played 90 minutes in a Premier League game just once in the second half of last season to raise questions over his future at the club.

But Jesus, who scored five goals in City's run to success in the FA Cup last season, insists he sees his future at the Etihad.

"I think it's out of the question that Aguero leaves and me too," he added.
