'Gabriel has landed!' - Arsenal fans go into transfer meltdown after tracking flight from France

Arsenal supporters have taken to social media after tracking what they believe to be Gabriel Magalhaes' flight from France to England.

football.london understands the Gunners have reached a full agreement to sign the 22-year-old centre-back after beating off competition from Napoli and Manchester United.

Gabriel is set to undergo a medical and put pen to paper on a five-year deal, after opting to join Arsenal over the weekend.

It is understood that Arsenal's growing Brazilian contingent was key to convincing the defender to make the move, as well as the clear tactical plans that head coach Mikel Arteta has devised.

The Gunners boss is believed to have played a crucial role in progressing this deal to its completion following head of football Raul Sanllehi's departure, pitching his vision whilst the specifics of negotiations were left to football operations chief Huss Fahmy.

And ahead of a possible confirmation of the deal this week, Arsenal fans have taken to social media after noticing that a private jet from France has landed in Luton.

One supporter tweeted a video from Flight Tracker which showed a plane's journey into England, with the caption: "Gabriel has landed."

The fan then followed up with another tweet, which read: "For everyone asking, this a Brazilian made private jet and it flew from Lille to Luton which is about 16miles to Colney [Arsenal's training ground]."

And other fans responded with their excitement to the prospect of a deal being confirmed imminently.

One wrote: "Someone needs to get to the training ground and see if they can spot the car or guy."

Another tweeted: "Round of applause for the commitment!"

Despite the defender's apparent arrival in the country, it is understood that quarantine regulations are set to place a delay on integrating the defender into the squad.

The Gunners are still deciding on how to complete Gabriel's medical, with the Brazilian requiring to self-isolate for 14 days on his arrival.

As football.london reported on Thursday, there will be no exemptions to government policy for players signing for Premier League clubs from countries without travel corridors with the UK.
