Gabriel agrees with Mikel Arteta about 'magic' player at Arsenal as Leo Messo completes transfer

Here's all the news from around the Emirates Stadium over the past 24 hours.

Player ratings vs Crystal Palace

Arsenal are ending the Premier League season on a high.

A brace from Nicolas Pepe and a goal from substitute Gabriel Martinelli secured all three points against Crystal Palace and moved the Gunners back above Leeds United into ninth place.

There wasn't to be a fourth straight Premier League clean sheet away from home for Mikel Arteta's side to celebrate, but they will go into the final game of the season knowing they can still secure a European spot for next term.

As expected, Pepe scored high in the ratings, as did goalkeeper Bernd Leno who had to be at his best to deal with several balls into the box.

But how did the rest of the team fare?

Arsenal sign Leo Messo

Arsenal's first signing of this summer's transfer window has been announced.

And it's a name not many fans will be too familiar with.

As revealed by football.london , Arsenal have signed 10-year-old Kenyan youngster Leo Messo.

Messo - whose name resembles that of Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi - is part of the latest scholarship intake at Hale End.

His family are from London/Essex, and Messo was previously on the books at West Ham United.

Above is a picture of Messo holding his Arsenal shirt alongside Academy manager Per Mertesacker with no.9 on the back which suggests the wonderkid is a promising centre-forward that could be one to watch out for in the future.

Gabriel agrees with Arteta about 'magic' Pepe

When speaking to the media after the 3-1 win over Palace, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta heaped praise on Nicolas Pepe who opened and finished the scoring at Selhurst Park.

"Well, I am very encouraged and positive to think that way for two reasons. One because he’s come a long way in terms of consistency and what he’s producing in games, not just in the Premier League but what he’s done in Europe this season," the Spaniard said.

"And the second one because it’s in his mindset. He wants to look at every action, he wants to look at every post-match reflection that we do with him, he wants to work and he wants to be the best.

"When that happens and he has the talent that he has I think it’s a really good mixture."

As seen in the Instagram post above, Gunners defender Gabriel Magalhaes certainly agrees with his manager's assessment of Pepe's performance in south London.

So much so that he hailed the winger as 'magic'.
