Gabe Brown suffers ‘minor’ injury at Moneyball Pro-Am

After lighting up the Moneyball Pro-Am just last week, Michigan State basketball sophomore forward Gabe Brown was, unfortunately, injured in the first half of his game today with what Tom Izzo is calling a ‘minor’ right ankle sprain. Sadly, the injury came in a collision with Spartan teammate Xavier Tillman (along with Jalen Hayes of Team Roots).

Brown was helped off the floor by Tillman and Spartan freshman Malik Hall. This is a big year for Brown, who only averaged 2.3 points and 1.2 rebounds per game last year. He did come to life in the NCAA Tournament, dropping 15 points on LSU in the Sweet Sixteen. That offensive spark was validated last week at Moneyball when he scored 59 points in a single game.

With the emergence of Aaron Henry, the arrival of Malik Hall, and the future introduction of Joey Hauser, it is important for Gabe Brown to come into the year healthy. Thankfully, it sounds like this won’t be a long-term issue for Brown.
