GAA President Larry McCarthy walks out on reporter during TV interview after being quizzed over lack of free to air games

GAA President Larry McCarthy walked out of a TV interview when quizzed about the lack of free-to-air games in 2023.

The association launched a revamped GAAGO this year and some seven of this weekend's Championship games will be behind the paywall while only two will be shown on RTE.

And McCarthy seemed to take exception to questioning as he walked out on a TV interview conducted by reporter Joe Caulfield.

When asked about the controversy surrounding the lack of free-to-air games, McCarthy simply shook his head and walked away from the interview.

Individual game passes cost €12 on GAAGO but there is value in a mid-season pass which will set viewers back €39 and will show 16 exclusive games over the next five weekends.

McCarthy will be replaced as GAA President but Jarlath Burns with the Armagh man successful in his Presidency bid earlier this year.
