The first game of the day saw Tipperary defeat Clare by 2-11 to 1-11 in the Munster Football Championship, while Mayo defeated Leitrim by 2-15 to 0-10 in Connacht.
In Leinster, there were wins for Longford, Wicklow and Offaly over Louth, Wexford and Carlow respectively.
And Donegal overcame Tyrone by two points in Ulster.
