GAA fans not keen on fake crowd noise as Sky use it for first Championship game between Dublin and Laois

Dublin and Laois kicked off the 2020 All-Ireland Championship on Saturday evening.

The sides meet in a Leinster hurling clash, with the game being shown on Sky Sports.

With it being the first Championship match behind closed doors, Sky opted to use fake crowd noise and supporters weren't impressed by it.

One tweeted: "The fake crowd noise is dire."

Another added: "Crowd noise is shocking bad. Can't beat the real stuff."

Someone else said: "Two minutes in and Sky’s “augmented” crowd noise is awful. Slow and just weird, in the bin for me."

"Sky Sports need to get rid of the fake crowd noise for the GAA live. It's absolutely brutal," another post read.

One other Twitter user said: "@SkySports bin the crowd noise in the GAA please.. Brutal."

Another viewer tweeted: "Not buying this artificial crowd noise at Croke on Sky Sports GAA. Terrible."

But one person was a fan of it and said: "Great to have Championship hurling back on our screens, also enjoying @SkySportsGAA with their crowd noise. Sitting waiting for a rendition of Come On You Boys in Blue."
