GAA fans all took to Twitter to delight in Paul Mescal decking himself out in Kildare shorts while attending Coachella.
The world-famous festival is held in California with Mescal snapped by a fan alongside his Normal People co-star Daisy Edgar-Jones.
The Maynooth native was there to cheer on his musician girlfriend Phoebe Bridgers throughout her set at the eclectic music and arts event.
The hilarious sight of him togged out in a pair of O'Neills was the source of much amusement on Irish Twitter.
Gerry tweeted: “If I were Paul Mescal I’d see how far I could push the culchie fashion thing.
"Be pictured at festivals with a rolled-up Ben Sherman shirt. Firetrap all the way on the red carpet. Rock up to the Met Gala wearing Remus Uomo.”
While Ronán asked: "Genuine question, does Paul Mescal own any clothing other than Kildare GAA shorts?"
Aoife added: "Paul Mescal wearing Kildare shorts to Coachella makes me giggle ahahhaha."
Lastly, Becca said: "Paul Mescal wearing Kildare GAA shorts to Coachella is so funny to me."
The 26-year-old's Gaelic football credentials are well-known at this point.
Prior to quitting it in order to focus on acting, he played as a centre-back with Kildare up to U21 level and even captained them in a Leinster minor final against the likes of Con O'Callaghan.
His coach Brendan Hackett has stated that he was well able to compete with O'Callaghan and other top prospects and would have made it as a senior player had he pursued it.
Hackett said: "There is no question that he would be a current county footballer, absolutely no question about it. He had the ability and the personality to be very successful as a county footballer."
He also said: “You see underage footballers all the time and you know the ones that are going to make it.
“In my time over minor teams, you were running into David Clifford, Sean O’Shea, Con O’Callaghan, Colm Basquel, I would have put Paul Mescal very much in that company.”
In one interview with GQ, Mescal detailed how his decision to quit football was forced upon him after he suffered a broken jaw in a match.
He said: "I still played through first and second year of college.
"I had agreed in my own heart to give it up before starting third year, but we had a match the Saturday before starting college and I went out to catch the ball and broke my jaw.
"I had to make up a lie and said that I got mugged in my place of work, a garage."
