A bumper day of GAA action largely went to script today but there were a few surprises along the way.
East Kerry, inspired by David Clifford, ended Dr Crokes reign over Kerry with a deserved victory in the final at Austin Stack Park.
Reigning All-Ireland champions Corofin saw off Mayo side Ballintubber to reach the Connacht final where they will Padraig Pearses who won in London.
Ballyboden St Ednas were struggling in Drogheda at one stage but their class came through to see off Newtown Blues.
In hurling, Tipperary champions Borris-Ileigh overcame a fightback from Glen Rovers to set up a Munster final with Ballygunner who beat Patrickswell.

Pearse Stadium in Galway saw St Thomas retain their crown with victory over Liam Mellows, while Slaughtneil beat Dunloy to win the Ulster title.
