During the two-day talks held on December 10, the group stressed the need for cooperation among member states.
Participants highlighted the importance of addressing infrastructure and sustainable development issues.
Delegates from member states, guest countries as well as regional and international organizations discussed the development challenges from a cooperative perspective.

While the co-chairs (Japan, Italy, India, and South Africa) presented the working group’s main priorities and conducted sessions on financing sustainable development, regional infrastructure connectivity and accountability framework on G20's development commitments.
Committed to having an inclusive approach, the DWG invited the C20, T20, U20, W20 and Y20 Engagement Groups to attend along with representatives from the Infrastructure and Anti-Corruption Working Group to present their work programs and identify potential collaboration.
Preceding its first meeting, the DWG organized the South-South and Triangular Cooperation forum to address development challenges with an effective, inclusive and horizontal approach.
It aimed at sharing knowledge, lessons learned and advancing the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Upon presiding the G20, Saudi Arabia stressed the need to work on finding collective solutions to address common challenges.
It also called for benefiting from this global gathering to facilitate the dialogue process in order to ensure the comprehensiveness of policies, complete the achievements of G20 and highlight the cooperation spirit among leaders.
This comes in parallel with the start of the first preparatory meetings for the G20 summit, which will be hosted by Saudi Arabia in November 2020, where more than 140 events, meetings, forums, and workshops will take place.
The official representatives of the G20 leaders held their first meeting on December 7 in Riyadh to start discussing the summit’s general goal, “Seizing the opportunities of the 21st century for all.”
