Rams guard Rodger Saffold a fit on the Vikings?

If there’s one thing we know, it’s that the Minnesota Vikings are in need of some help on the offensive line.

They will likely address that in the draft, but free agency is also an option.

One name to keep an eye on his guard Rodger Saffold. Saffold, who will turn 31 in June, has spent his whole career with the Rams but will be a free agent. While he’ll demand a bigger contract considering he was the league’s ninth-ranked guard, per Pro Football Focus, the Vikings should have the room after making the appropriate contract cuts, which could include guys like Mike Remmers and Andrew Sendejo, plus restructured deals for Kyle Rudolph and Everson Griffen.

With tackle tackles Riley Reiff and Brian O’Neill, along with center Pat Elflein, there’s a base on the offensive line. Adding Saffold, a first-round pick and a few more minor pieces for depth could totally revamp this unit.

The No. 1 priority should be protecting $84 million man Kirk Cousins. That’s something the Vikings failed at last season. Saffold could help change that.
