G.R.L. members pay tribute to Lauren Bennett after her death aged 37

  • Singer Lauren Bennett, who was a member of the group G.R.L. and featured on LMFAO’s 2011 hit “Party Rock Anthem,” has died at age 37.
  • Her former bandmates confirmed her death in a statement Monday, expressing profound sadness and cherishing the memories they shared with her.
  • “It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our beloved Lauren,” G.R.L. wrote. “Our hearts are broken, and we cannot begin to express how much she meant to us. We will forever cherish the love, laughter, and countless memories she gave us. Her beautiful spirit touched so many lives, and she will be deeply missed and forever loved.” The note was signed by G.R.L. members Emmalyn Estrada, Natasha Slayton and Paula van Oppen.
  • Bennett's music career began at age 18 with the group Paradiso Girls, followed by a solo career and collaborations before she joined G.R.L. in 2011, achieving a number one hit with “Party Rock Anthem.” G.R.L. released an EP and featured on Pitbull’s “Wild Wild Love.” The group faced tragedy when bandmate Simone Battle died by suicide in 2014, leading to a song promoting mental health awareness.
  • Bennett's official cause of death has not yet been confirmed, and she is survived by her six-year-old daughter, Harlow, from her relationship with dancer Kenny Wormald.
