Fyre Festival 2? Billy McFarland might be in prison but he’s already planning his comeback

Fyre Fest might be over, but it's not forgotten. The failed festival lives on in both Hulu and Netflix documentaries - and in festival-goers sharing their horror stories about pig tusk accidents and sea urchin encounters.

But now, the festival might literally live on, at least according to the now-infamous organizer Billy McFarland.

McFarland might be in prison, but that doesn't seem to have stopped him speaking out about Fyre 2.0.

According to New York Magazine, McFarland is already plotting a major comeback.

McFarland's girlfriend, Russian Instagram model Anastasia (Ana) Eremenko (not to be confused with Anna Delvey, who Mcfarland also has ties to) reached out to freelance editor Josh Raab with the story. Raab has previously worked with Al Gore and Garth Brooks, so adding McFarland to the mix would certainly make an eclectic CV.

"Last month 2 documentaries came out about the FYRE FESTIVAL but unfortunately both misrepresented the real events and Billy would like to share his story," the message he received read.

Raab then spoke to McFarland's girlfriend, who appeared in the Hulu documentary Fyre Fraud. She told him McFarland was writing a book, tentatively called Prometheus: The God of Fyre. He has reportedly been writing the pages in prison and mailing them to his girlfriend to type up.

Raab chatted by phone and email with McFarland about his plans to self-publish a memoir. He named Jordan Belfort as his inspiration, who famously penned the memoir The Wolf of Wall Street. Perhaps Leonardo DiCaprio can also play McFarland.

In an email to Raab, McFarland wrote, "Putting in terms of Wolf of Wall Street, the Festival will not be a one and done event... It’s happening again, so the original story will lose the potential to be told and set the stage if it’s not done before the next events take place."

McFarland originally said he would self-publish his memoir in April, but no book has yet been produced.
