Future residents of Hadrian's Tower could have 24/7 drinks concierge and 'hotel lifestyle'

Future residents of a giant Newcastle skyscraper with a rooftop champagne bar could have access to a 24/7 drinks concierge.

New details have been revealed of the city’s tallest building, Hadrian’s Tower, which will boast Tyneside’s highest bar and restaurant when it opens later this year.

Residents of the 27-storey block’s 162 apartments have been promised the “lifestyle of living in a hotel” by the company behind the giant project, the High Street Group.

And, according to a licensing application lodged with Newcastle City Council, that could include a concierge service offering food and alcoholic drinks 24 hours a day.

As well as the 3Sixty bar at the top of the Rutherford Street building, Hadrian’s Tower will also have a cafe on the first floor.

The application states that the bar will specialise in champagne and cocktails, with 3Sixty potentially serving alcoholic drinks until 12.30am on weekends and 11.30pm during the week – with food service ending at 9pm.

However, a concierge service would be available at any time of the day or night, offering "pre-prepared meals for residents of the tower, which might include the provision of alcoholic beverages in sealed containers".

Gary Forrest, chairman of the High Street Group, says: “Hadrian’s Tower will offer residents luxury homes with the lifestyle of living in a hotel.

“They will benefit from a range of round-the-clock services including exclusive access to 3SIXTY and its stunning views across the Newcastle skyline, a concierge and an innovative app-based food ordering service which will provide a selection of health-focused meal options.

“Furthermore, the building will also include a premium coffee shop which will add even more value to the Hadrian’s Tower community.

“3SIXTY will offer a unique Pan-Asian dining experience to residents of the tower, the wider public and visitors as well.

“The highest bar and lounge in the city, which is on track to open in October this year, will give its customers an unparalleled experience in this iconic North East setting.”

If approved by the council, Hadrian's Tower's licence could also allow for live music and other performances as late as 1.30am.
