March 31--The city of Aurora is looking for input on the future of South Farnsworth Avenue.
As part of a study on growth and development along South Farnsworth, the city will host a rescheduled public open house April 14. The earlier scheduled open house was canceled due to bad weather.
At the event, participants can review exhibits and provide comments about the stretch of Farnsworth from New York Street to Route 30.
The open house will run from 4 to 7 p.m. at Allen Elementary School, 700 S. Farnsworth Ave. The open house format allows for attendees to visit at any point during the three hours to review exhibits, provide comments and discuss issues with staff members, city officials said.
The Farnsworth Avenue Feasibility Study is a comprehensive look at existing roadway conditions, capacity issues and future transportation needs for the Farnsworth Avenue Corridor from New York Street south to Route 30. The corridor has experienced considerable growth in population, employment and travel demand, and that growth is expected to continue in the future, city officials said.
If residents, business owners and others are unable to attend the open house in person, suggestions can be submitted by April 28 via email to egallt@aurora-il.org or in person or mail to City of Aurora Engineering Department, 44 E. Downer Place, Aurora, IL, 60507.
