'Future of Chelsea!' - Blues fans sent into transfer frenzy after Declan Rice's England display

Thomas Tuchel has had had a fairytale eight months as Chelsea manager.

The German helped guide his side to a coveted top-four spot in the Premier League after taking over from Frank Lampard in the managerial hot-seat back in January.

The former Paris Saint-Germain boss then masterminded an iconic UEFA Champions League victory over Manchester City in May's final as the Blues became champions of Europe for the second time in the club's history.

Tuchel was soon handed a new contract by the club before embarking on his first summer transfer at Stamford Bridge as he spent a club-record £97.5million on Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku before bringing in Atletico Madrid midfield maestro Saul Niguez on loan on deadline day.

The addition of Niguez now means that Chelsea have four first-rate central-midfielders at their disposal, with the Spanish international joining Jorginho, N'Golo Kante and Mateo Kovacic as the Blues' options in the middle of the park.

Still, links to West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice seem to never go away and football.london understands that the 22-year-old has turned down two new contracts from the Hammers in recent months.

Chelsea fans have taken to social media this evening to urge transfer chief Marina Granovskaia to bring the English international to west London after he netted a brilliant goal for the Three Lions as they won their World Cup qualifier match against Hungary 4-0 on Thursday night.

Here is how some fans reacted to the goal on Twitter.

@lwtmarte : "RICE COME TO CHELSEA."

@gs42__ : "Rice goal and Mount assist in one game. The future of Chelsea."

@MineralsFC : "Rice is born to play for Chelsea with Mount."

@CFCManuel_ : "Chelsea must sign this guy."

@CFCsxints : "Welcome to Chelsea."
