'Future is looking bright' - Nottingham Forest fans celebrate surprise club announcement

Andy Reid has returned to Nottingham Forest to take up a role with the club’s Under-23s - and City Ground fans are delighted to have him back.

as part of the coaching staff at the Nigel Doughty Academy, being appointed academy technical coach.

An announcement from the club said: "Nottingham Forest are delighted to announce that former player Andy Reid has returned to the club to be an academy technical coach with the Under-23s side."

It continued: "Reid will split his time between Forest and the FAI, joining the Reds on a casual basis as part of a restructuring of the Under 23s coaching set-up.

"Jimmy Gilligan has left his role as Under-23s head coach, departing for a new role at the FA, with Chris Cohen stepping up to take on the position and bringing in former teammate Reid to assist him.

"The club would like to thank Jimmy for his efforts at the club and wish Chris and Andy the best of luck in their new roles."

But having Reidy back on Trentside have brought back nothing but fond memories for Reds supporters.
