NEW DELHI: Future Group entity Future Coupons along with the group’s promoter Kishore Biyani and others on Thursday filed a special leave petition (SLP) in the SC to challenge the Delhi HC order on the Rs 24,700-crore proposed Reliance-Future deal.
The Delhi HC order by Justice Midha had directed the attachment of assets of Future Group companies and Biyani and noted that emergency arbitrator’s (Singapore International Arbitration Centre: SIAC) interim award needs to be complied with in India.
This had put a stay on the deal.
Recently, the SC ruled in favour of Amazon and upheld the interim award by the emergency arbitrator in India.
Amazon, which had bought a 49% stake in Future Coupons, had approached SIAC alleging violations of contract by Future Group, when the latter announced the proposed deal with Reliance Retail.
