Teachers and parents are fuming over a "dangerous eyesore" close to a primary school.
Pictures shared with the ECHO show the site of a former mural close to District CofE Primary School in Newton-le-Willows. The area has since fallen into disrepair and has been branded "dangerous" by a local councillor who claims parents and teachers have voiced their concerns.
Rotting wood has made the site unpleasant to look at as parents claim their kids should "be inspired" on their way to school instead. One parent said: "It's been an eyesore since my girl started there 12 years ago , with all the efforts that have gone into improving the look of the school this is disappointing."

Terry Maguire, councillor for Newton-le-Willows West said: "It really is an awful sight for our children to see each morning. We want to encourage and inspire our children; an eyesore like this lifts nobody’s spirit. I was asked earlier in the year to investigate on behalf of the schools Eco team, they wanted to plant the area to brighten it up.
"I had contacted the council and have had meetings with three officers and emails to others. Nothing has happened. The issue is an unsafe wall behind the metal fencing. The wall needs rebuilding and the tyre place that backs onto it is happy to accommodate to allow works to happen. There is also the rotten boarded area, that if renovated could be used by the school to maybe put some art on there.
