Fury as Scots kids ditch entire campsite at beauty spot after all night lockdown party

Residents have expressed their anger after an entire campsite of belongings was discovered strewn across the Pentland Hills near Edinburgh.

The campsite was left abandoned after a group of teens had enjoyed an all-night party on Saturday night, reports Edinburgh Live.

A local walker spotted empty bottles, food wrappers and parts of a tent left behind at the site near Harlaw Reservoir, prompting anger.

Upon seeing the pictures of the rubbish posted on social media, a furious resident posted: "Beyond me how people can be like this... so inconsiderate."

It's not the first time excessive rubbish has been left at beauty spots in the hills near the capital, with groups of young people in the city regularly taking to the Pentland hills during the pandemic for a social gathering.

Over the last year, a host of camping equipment, food and even human waste have been spotted at various sites around the reservoirs and walking routes.

Though the winter months had been quieter it appears the incidents are becoming more common as the weather begins to get warmer.

After passing the debris left near Harlaw, the local walker said: "I just passed four lads carrying sleeping bags/mats, clearly had a bit of a do."

One user responded: "Totally no need, I mean how difficult would it be to take a couple of black bags with them then tidy afterwards."
